Identity of the department
The Department of LPM is an an integral part of SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. Dr. P.C. Thapan was the first Head of the Department. The department was upgraded as PG department in the academic session 2013-14. At present, Dr. Juned Akhter is Head of the Department of LPM. The Department is conducting teaching, research and extension as per mandate.
Aim and objectives
To impart education in Livestock Production Management
To undertake research work in Livestock Production Management
To deliver training to farmers, students and employees working in different organizations
To undertake various activities which the institution deems proper to accomplish the objectives

Backyard poultry production for raising farm income of small, marginal farmers and landless labours under semi-arid condition of Rajasthan - RKVY-04.
To establish demonstration unit of Sirohi goat for raising income of small, marginal and landless labours under semi-arid condition of Rajasthan -RKVY-05
Conservation, Improvement and production performance of Indigenous Milch Breeds of Cows under semi-arid conditions of Rajasthan -RKVY-14
Facilities or infrastructure
Classrooms and Practical Laboratory: Well furnished classrooms, seminar hall and practical laboratory with essential facilities
Dairy Farm: well established dairy farm with pure Gir herd and Cross-bred cattles for demonstration and experiential learning
Sirohi goat unit: Pure sirohi goat unit is maintained at farm for demonstration and experiential learning
Poulty farm: Kadaknath, Aseel, Kuroiler, White leghorn, Japanese Quail, Guinea fowl and ducks are maintained for demonstration and experiential learning
Golden Jubilee forage Garden: Established in 2019-20 having total 30 types of perennials
Bajra-Napier hybrids: 20
Other Perennial Grasses : 10
Evergreen forage orchard: 240 trees (Drumstick, Ardu, Subabool & Khejari)
