“NOT ME, BUT YOU”

About:

Sri Karan Narendra College of Agriculture, Jobner has been launching its National Service Scheme Program through NSS Program Coordinator, SKNAU, Jobner

The students take part in NSS activities for two academic sessions (i.e., first and second year) and has to pass it satisfactorily as a requirement for undergraduate degree programme. the NSS was allotted a credit hour of 2(0+2). A student enrolled in NSS course should put in at least 60 hours of social work in different activities in a semester other than five regular one day camp in a year and one special camp for duration of 7 days at any semester break period in the two-year Different activities will include orientation lectures and practical works. Activities directed by the Central and State Government have to be performed by all the volunteers of NSS as per direction

Unit Strength: 100 Volunteers

Aims:

  • Personality development of students through community service.

Objectives:

  • Understand the community in which they work

  • Understand themselves in relation to their community

  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving

  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility

  • Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems

  • Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities

  • Gain skills in mobilizing community participation

  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes

  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and

  • Practice national integration and social harmony

Achievements:

  • Miss Hanshika Jeetarwal participated in Republic Day Parade-2024 at Kartavya Path New Delhi

  • Every year 50 volunteers received NSS certificate after completion of 240 hours social work, and One 7 days camp.

  • Participate in parade on Independence Day (15th August) and Republic Day (26th January)

  • Volunteers participate in Awareness campaign for “Say No to Polythene”

  • Every year two volunteers participate in Pre-RD parade camp and Youth festival.

  • Volunteer every year participate in clean India programme, Yoga Day, NSS Day celebration, Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti, Women’s Day, National Youth Day, Environment Day, Rashtriya Poshan Mah etc.

  • Organizing Awareness Rallies

  • Blood Donation Camp and Blood Donation Awareness Programmes

  • Clean Plate campaign
