AWARDS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS

1. AWARDS:

The following gold medals shall be awarded each year to outstanding candidates on the results of the University examination (OGPA 6.5/10.00 in UG and 8.0/10.00 for PG programme)

1.1 Bachelor of Science in Agriculture B. Sc. (Ag.) Hons Examination of this University.

1.2 Post-graduate examination for group of each the: M. Sc. (Ag.) i.e.

I PBG, Horticulture and Plant Physiology

II Agronomy and Soil Science

III Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology IV LPM, Ext. Education and Agriculture Economics

1.3 Three gold medals i.e. Chancellor, Vice – chancellor and University Gold Medal will be awarded each year among all discipline.

2. SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS:

2.1 University Merit Scholarships:

The following University Merit Scholarships are awarded to the students standing first in order of merit at the post-graduate examination of this University. The eligibility of merit scholarship to M. Sc. (Ag.) and Ph. D. students shall be a minimum OGPA of 7.50 out of 10.00 in the first semester.

2.1.1 For M.Sc. (Ag.) programme there shall be three scholarships to be awarded to M.Sc. students in each of the following groups @ Rs 1600/-, 1300/- and 1000/-per month for I topper, II topper and III topper respectively for a period of 24 months. Three students who secure highest OGPA/Marks with minimum suggested OGPA in the first semester of M. Sc. (Ag.) in each group shall be awarded the scholarship on the basis of merit.

2.1.1 For Ph.D. programme there shall be three scholarships to be awarded to Ph.D. students in each of the following groups @ Rs 2000/-, 1500/- and 1000/-per month for I topper, II topper and III topper respectively for a period of 24 months. Three students who secure highest OGPA/Marks with minimum suggested OGPA in the first semester of M. Sc. (Ag.) in each group shall be awarded the scholarship on the basis of merit. The total period of the scholarship shall be 30 months.

2.1.2 Only bonafide residents of state of Rajasthan may apply for PG scholarships.

Note: The continuation of M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. fellowships will be governed by the ICAR Fellowship Rules (Junior Research Fellow for M.Sc. (Ag.) and Senior Research Fellow for the Ph. D. Programme).

2.2 Scholarships offered by different departments:

2.2.1. Post metric Scholarship to SC/ ST/ OBC/ minorities/ PH

All students of UG as well as PG of the categories are awarded scholarship by Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of Rajasthan.

2.2.2. National Talent Scholarship

It is awarded by ICAR to the students other than the resident of Rajasthan who admitted in UG programme through All India Joint Entrance Examination

2.2.3. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)

The scholarship is awarded by ICAR to those students who admitted through ICAR in PG and Ph.D. programme respectively.

2.2.4. Rajeev Gandhi fellowship to Ph.D. students of SC/ ST/ OBC/ minorities/ PH

It is awarded to Ph.D. students of category

2.2.5 Inspired Fellowship sponsored by DST

It is awarded to Ph.D. students

2.2.6. Scholarship for girls

Financial incentive is given by Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Rajasthan to the girls studying in agriculture faculty. For B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag and M.Sc. (Ag.) Rs. 12000/- per year, whereas, 15000/- for Ph.D. students.

Note: For further information about rules & regulations of the various scholarships and fellowships, the student should contact the office of the Dean of the college concerned. A candidate is eligible to get only one scholarship at a time.

2.3 Thesis contingency grant:

Thesis contingency amount is also made available to M.Sc. (Ag.) students @ Rs. 500/- and Ph. D. (Course works) students @ RS. 8OO/- with the following eligibility conditions:

2.3.1 Student who has completed course work with minimum OGPA required for degree and has passed his/her comprehensive or preliminary examination.

2.3.2 He/She should be registered for full time research in the IVth semester in M.Sc.(Ag.) and IIIrd to Vth semester in Ph.D. programme to avail of this.

2.3.3 He/She has been a regular student for 4/5 consecutive semesters without a gap on any grounds whatsoever in M.Sc. (Ag.)/Ph.D. programme respectively.

2.3.4 He/She has submitted the thesis not later than 5 semesters of registration for M.Sc.(Ag.) and not later than 6 semesters of the registration for Ph.D. (C.W.) students.

2.3.5 He/She is not awarded a research fellowship with a contingency grant from any other sources.
